Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar has ordered the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to expedite the investigation on two policemen from Rizal and Quezon City who were arrested in two separate operations for involvement in illegal activities.

Based on the report reaching the Office of the Chief PNP, Police Staff Sergeant Ariel Yalung was arrested in Quezon City during the operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation against the illegal sale and overprizing of Tocilizumab which is being used to treat COVID-19 patients.

The NBI operation was conducted based on the complaint that two people were selling Tocilizumab online for P95,000. The suggested price of the medicine is P25,000.

Police Staff Sergeant June Angeles, on the other hand, was arrested by operatives of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG), in an entrapment after he was accused of demanding money from the spouse of one of the detainees in San Mateo, Rizal.

PGen Eleazar called on the public to immediately report if they have information on police officers involved in unscrupulous activities.
