Operatives of PNP-Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group arrested three (3) fixers victimizing trucking services Thursday morning.
Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar, OIC, Chief PNP identified the arrested suspects RONILO CONTREDAS REGINO, 39 yrs old, resident of Brgy. Lagundi, Allen, Samar; CHRISTOPHER HACUTINA MARQUEZ, 28 yrs old, resident of Brgy. Bolo, Matnog, Sorsogon, striker of HPG Matnog; and MARK FORMANES GENEBLAZO, 22 years old, resident of Brgy. Camachiles, Matnog, Sorsogon.
In his report to PLTGen Eleazar, Acting Director of IMEG Police Colonel Thomas R Frias Jr said that joint PNP personnel of IMEG Luzon Field Unit South Luzon Bravo led by PMAJ JORDEN GUTAY, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Sorsogon, 92nd SAC-SAB and Matnog MPS, conducted entrapment operation at Matnog Port, Bgy Gadgaron, Matnog, Sorsogon that led to the arrest of the suspects.
Investigation revealed that the suspects illegally offered their services by arranging and prioritizing the boarding of trucks and processing of documents in exchange for PhP12,000.00.
The three suspects were now under the police custody for further investigation and proper disposition.
Meanwhile, in Surigao City, a joint operation led by Surigao City Administrator Atty Jerry R. Centro, Chairman, Task Force Anti Illegal Logging in Surigao (TFAILS), Surigao City Police Station, PNP IMEG Municipal Field Unit, DENR and Brgy. San Juan Officials conducted inspection on Illegal Structure in relation to E032 in Purok 1-B, Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City and confiscated of huge sawn lumbers in different dimensions having an estimated volume of 30,000.00 board feet, and with an estimated value of Php 200,000.
Upon verification, the building was allegedly owned by PEMS Allan Tinio (at large), a member of 2nd SDN PMFC, based in Sitio Kugtong, Brgy. Poblacion, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte.
The confiscated sawn lumber are now at the custody of the City PENRO, located in Brgy. San Juan, Surigao City for proper disposition while the PNP-IMEG is conducting follow-up operations to arrests the said suspect for Violation of PD 705 (Illegal Logging).
