As the Philippine National Police leadership pursues reforms to make the police organization a more transparent, accountable, and credible organization, PNP Officer-In-Charge PLTGEN Vicente D. Danao Jr. released data of resolved administrative cases of PNP personnel covering the period from July 2016 to May 4, 2022 on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

Citing the report of the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), PLTGen Danao disclosed that out of the 21,306 PNP personnel, 5,652 were dismissed from the service, 1,150 were demoted in rank, 10,650 were suspended, 853 were sanctioned with salary forfeiture, 2,491 were reprimanded, 222 were restricted to quarters and 288 meted withheld privileges.

Meanwhile, out of the 716 PNP personnel involved in illegal drug related cases, 504 personnel consisting of 10 Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs), 479 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) and 15 Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) were dismissed because they were found positive on the use of illegal drugs, and 183 (11 PCOs, 171 PNCOs, 1 NUP) were dismissed for involvement in other Drug-Related Cases, all covering the period from July 2016 to November 12, 2021, while a total of 23 PNCOs were dismissed because they were found positive on the use of illegal drugs and 6 PNCOs were dismissed for their involvement in other Drug-Related Cases from November 13, 2021 to May 4, 2022.

“The PNP does not condone any member of the police organization who violates the law and gets involved in illegal activities. Nonetheless, all those involved were sanctioned accordingly following the time honoured principle of the constitutional RIGHT TO DUE PROCESS”, PLTGen Danao said.

“Ito ay nagpapatunay din na seryoso ang liderato ng PNP na itama ang lahat ng kamalian at parusahan ang dapat parusahan sa aming hanay dahil sa bandang huli, hindi lang ang PNP ang makikinabang dito kung hindi ang mamamayang Pilipino na aming pinagsisilbihan at pinoprotektahan,” PLTGen Danao added.
