SINAS: PNP FREE RIDE, MASKS TO STRANDED COMMUTERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The PNP Libreng-Sakay program has served 13,378 stranded passengers since NCR-Plus was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine on March 29, 2021.
PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas said PNP heavy lift transport vehicles comprising two buses, five utility trucks, and two coasters alternately make regular roundtrips to and from designated pick-up and drop-off points within the city.
As supplies allow, Libreng-Sakay also provides face mask, bottled water and useful information materials to passengers, Sinas said.
“This is the PNP’s way of reaching out to citizens by providing mobility and other extended service to authorized persons (APOR) so that they could attend to their work with convenience even while the ECQ is in effect,” Sinas said.

PNP THWARTS CPP-NPA PLANNED ATTACKS IN METRO
Police foiled plans by the communist New People’s Army to deploy urban guerilla units that will conduct terrorist activities in Metro Manila.
PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas said the thwarted plans are part of the CPP-NPA effort to revive armed city partisan units while preparing hit squads based in the countryside that could be deployed to cities on missions.
“The PNP's intensified anti-criminality and anti-terrorism drive in CALABARZON, led by the CIDG and in cooperation with the local police units of PRO4A, resulted to the seizure of several high-powered firearms and explosives believed to have been acquired by the CPP-NPA as part of its plan to commit attacks against government forces in connection with the pronouncement of the top leadership of the CPP-NPA-NDF,” Sinas said.
