PNP Chief, "Pulis Nyo Po", Director General Nicanor A Bartolome has mobilized the entire 17,000-strong police force in Metro Manila to cover every square inch of the 21 identified crime prone areas in the metropolis.
The PNP Chief issued these instructions as he formally installed CSupt Leonardo A Espina as Regional Director of NCRPO.
"Hit hard on criminals and protect the people," Bartolome told Espina.
Echoing the orders of President Aquino for increased police visibility and preventive patrol operations, Bartolome instructed Espina to maximize the deployment of NCRPO resources and personnel in every nook and cranny of Metro Manila.
Among other marching orders to the new NCRPO Chief, Bartolome also wants all pending administrative cases involving NCRPO personnel resolved within the next 30 days.
Acknowledging the effectiveness of the anti-crime strategy implemented by erstwhile NCRPO Chief, Director Alan Purisima, Bartolome told Espina to complement and innovate these existing anti-crime programs with new strategic and operational directions in crime prevention and control, with greater emphasis on community mobilization, proactive intelligence, neutralization of wanted persons and interdiction operations against organizedcrime groups.
