Supplementing the vital needs of the Philippine National Police in mobility, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mel S. Sarmiento led the distribution of Patrol Jeeps in Legazpi City and Romblon on Friday, December 4, 2015.
Sarmiento was joined by Legazpi City Mayor Noel E. Rosal, Acting Police Regional Office 5 Director PCSupt Augusto M. Marquez Jr., PNP Spokesperson PCSupt Wilben M. Mayor and other government officials.
A total of 43 patrol vehicles were received by the different Chiefs of Police of PRO 5 as end-users.
Furthermore, Sarmiento also led the turn-over of 17 patrol vehicles to its end-users in Romblon Provincial Public Safety Company, Odiongan, Romblon together with Romblon Governor Eduardo C. Firmalo represented by SP Sam Romero, Congressman Eleandro Madrona, PRO 4B Regional Director PCSupt Dennis J. Peña, Romblon Police Provincial Office Director PSSupt Juan B. Añonuevo, PCSupt Mayor and other government officials.
All 60 patrol vehicles distributed in Legazpi and Roblon were part of the DILG-PNP’s improved capabilities to “shoot, move, and communicate" under its procurement program.
The DILG-PNP procurement program aims to provide at least 1 patrol vehicle to every Police Station nationwide. (PNP-PIO)
