The Philippine National Police added 50 more patrol jeeps to the transport fleet of Police Regional Office – 13 (CARAGA) to boost the mobile capability of maneuver units in responding to police emergencies in support of law enforcement and internal security operations.
DILG Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento together with PNP PIO Chief, PCSupt Wilben M Mayor led the ceremonial turnover and distribution of the vehicles and was received by PRO 13 Regional Director, PCSupt Vert Tinio Chavez yesterday (December 10) at Camp Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City.
The patrol jeeps were distributed to different police offices of CARAGA as follows: 20 for the Municipal Police Stations of Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office, 17 for Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office and 13 for Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office.
The said vehicles were received by the respective Municipal Mayors and Chiefs of Police of the recipient PNP units.
According to PCSupt Mayor, these vehicles are expected to provide substantial police presence, general transport capability, and other emergency response capabilities to the police force of CARAGA.
The new 12-seater Mahindra Enforcer Patrol Jeeps with a full-body conversion with convertible back-to-back and front-facing seats; fitted with siren and lights with speakers; low cost of maintenance and a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engines rated at 100 hp and 240 Nm of torque will be used by the CARAGA police to further enhance their operations against criminality.
