The Philippine National Police opened the Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) to the media today for the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit 2015 Leaders Meeting hosted by the Philippines on November 18-19 to be held at Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay.
Led by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento and PNP Chief/APEC Task Force Commander Police Director General Ricardo C Marquez, the Multi-Agency Coordination Center was activated last November 3 to monitor and manage all the movements of the delegates who will attend the meeting base on the installed modern monitoring and communication equipment in the area and billeting hotels.
The command center is composed of 18 government and other agencies to adhere the concept of the “Whole of Government Approach”. The overall security preparations and administrative and operational activities are done to ensure the successful conduct of APEC Economic Leadership Meeting in our country.
The MACC is technically equipped with a Video Wall System and radio communicators geared to provide timeliness and efficiency in responding to the security needs of the delegates.
“We are putting our best foot forward in this historic event. We have started preparations since last year. We have rehearsed and fine-tuned all our systems and procedures for this event,” Marquez said. (PNP-PIO)
